Lee Group of Companies was born when it opened its first store in September 29, 1989 which is Jollibee Alabang Junction Muntinlupa which was known to be the first Jollibee drive thru store in the Philippines. After a little more than 3 years of operation, LGC opened its second store in January 25, 1993 in Quezon City which is Jollibee UP Philcoa. On February 5, 1994 it opened the first Jollibee store in Cavite and that is Jollibee Imus. In the succeeding years, LGC continues to grow by opening more stores and branches in areas of Alabang, Quezon City and Cavite. LGC started to carry other brands like Greenwich, Chowking and Red Ribbon in the process of expansion.

In 2006, LGC focused not only on the expansion of its business but in the development of its people as well by placing its Head Office in the midst of Alabang and its centralized accounting system was made. Subsequently in 2007, LGC formed its Human Resource Department to maximize the organizations productivity and the effectiveness of its people. In 2008, the group held its first Annual Convention in Batangas participated by all its employees. The same year the Engineering Department was formed to address all technical operational concerns on equipment and repairs. In 2012, the company established its Purchasing Department which aids in the procurement of the materials, spare parts and services in the operation of business. In 2017, LGC established its Logistics Department for the efficient transportation and storage of goods including services.

As of today, LGC continues to expand in different parts of the Philippines alongside with developing its people. The group is currently operating 33 branches nationwide and now has 1,400 employees anchored towards achieving the company's Mission and Vision.
